Top Five Fabulous! October 10, 2019

1.     In math, we have started to learn about decreasing patterns.  Decreasing patterns start with the biggest number and they get smaller each time.  I might start with 10 and decrease by 2 each time.  We used math manipulatives to build the pattern and then we recorded them in our math journal.

2.    In literacy, we worked on our Daily 5.  We love going to the different literacy centres and reading with our teachers.  This week was joke week at Midnapore school. Ask me to tell you a hilarious joke! Next week will be poetry week.

3.    We have started social studies this week.  We are learning about the East coast of Canada.  We looked at a map of Canada first, so that we knew where the East Coast was in Canada.  We then looked at pictures in small groups and talked about what we noticed and what we wondered.  After coming up with our observations, we made a venn diagram looking at urban vs rural areas in the East Coast.

4.    In science, we finished building our magnet games and we were able to play them with our buddy class.  

5.    In PE, we are learning a new skill.  We have been using scoops and balls.  We were working with partners and we were trying to see how many times we could throw and catch, in a row.
